Back in October, I attended a screening and Q&A for Debora Cahn’s The Diplomat. Every curve in the road of this story is thrilling. After taking an explosive turn at the end of Season 1, The Diplomat is back in full force for Season 2. What struck me about the creative team was not just how exceptional the writing and performances were, but also their collaborative dynamic. Mutual respect is the fuel that keeps The Diplomat from running idle and it’s an approach every project could benefit from.
I also attended IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking Summit. Learning to navigate detours is familiar territory for independent filmmakers, but advances in production workflow are making inroads.
